I had a wonderful Wednesday night. :) Frankly, I am at lost of words on how to express my excitement, eagerness and happiness about my Wednesday date. My mom came over to my office and we left for Henderson for dinner. Mom has just graduated from Basic Training (for photos please check out the photo album in my facebook) and she is still very excited over it. I am sooo sooo sooo thankful God has placed her there and that Ad has pushed on to get her enrolled. It seems that my mom has a total brand new look towards life and is living it to her fullest and enjoying every single moment of it. I am so happy. I am so grateful for this opportunity given to her. Thank You, God.
We had a light dinner and our conversations are now more uplifting, she seems to be able to resonate with the same frequency as I am or rather, we are now on the same level of frequency. She's more optimistic and more open to possiblities. I can't say how glad I am now that we can share this level of conversation.
BUT, that's not the highlight... the highlight was we went to Henderson aged Outreach centre! I made alot of friends there and I was so looking forward to seeing them.
There are about 50 kind old ladies and old men over there and they all make it a point to gather and spend some time together, be it singing, playing games, etc.
I was busy so I was not able to take photos but I am so happy to see them and I can feel their sincerity when they say that they're happy to see us.
We began the night with light exercises. I was putting up the posters of the different postures for the exercise and showing them how to do it and my mom was guiding them through. The entire LP group was there and everyone was mingling around. :)
After the exercises, we have karaoke session, my mom was on the mic so she started her opera songs. Boy, do they love it! There was encore... ha ha ha... it's hilarious.
OH OH OH... we had BINGO! And we gave out daily necessities to them as prizes.
A kind soul delivered bread over and everyone has bread to take home. Mind you, it's an entire loaf of Guardina Bread.
And HSBC sponsored $15 NTUC voucher for them too! So sweet!
LP81 has a WOW day event on 4th April 2009, Saturday 12pm - 7pm at Hort Park. They're in need of volunteers. I have class going on so I can't go. Dang. But do let me know if you're free to help. drop me a note ya?
Next Wednesday 1 April is my Advance Training... I hope I can break through.
God Bless...
