In love with a genius.....

I recently watched my favorite movie for the second time - it's the movie "Secret" 《不能說的秘密》 starring Jay Chou and Kwai Lun-mei. I loved this film...

For those who have not watched the movie and intend to watch it, I suggest you skip this posting cos I really don't want to spoil your experience.

I am in love with the theme song... and I got the MV! yeah!

Frankly, I didn't appreciate Jay Chou at all cos I felt that he couldn't pronounce his words properly when he sings... Until this movie, it was an eye-opener for me and I realised how talented and gifted he is. He's a genius! :) He knows how to play the piano, cello, guitar, drums and not forgetting his song-writing. And after this movie, I went to listen to his songs more intently and I realised that the lyrics he wrote are very poetic and written very beautifully! Alas, I overlooked his gifts... goodness, I'm in love with this genius!

I was so impressed in the piano duel scene...

And I thought the duet was soooooooo romantic!!!!! Makes me want to go learn piano... ha ha ha... Well, I think in the movie, the romance is very sweet. The way he teases her, the sweet nothings he says like when told that he likes to play with 1 hand, he replied "so I can hold your hand with the other"... so sweet. ah... *swoon*

I do like the time travel piece...

Follow the notes upon a journey
At first sight marks one's destiny
Once the voyage comes to an end
Return lies within hasty keys

I like this song too...

What was sweet to me was Jay Chou paying tribute to his school and his favourite composer in this movie...
  1. 淡江中學(Tamkang (Danjiang) Middle School): 2007 marks the 10th year he left his school. In the movie, he incorporated elements which reflected his actual experience in school, such as his stint as pianist for the school choir. In the movie, he was the orchestra’s pianist and played during high school graduation.
  2. Chopin: There were several occasions when Jay paid tribute to his favourite composer.
    1. Right at the beginning of the movie, a lesson about Chopin was being taught in class. He was described as a gifted musician and composer.
    2. There were 2 paintings in the music room that were supposedly Chopin and his lover (George Sand). The conversation between Xianglun & Xiaoyu was about Chopin and his lover. Xianglun lamented that the two eventually parted ways. However, Xiaoyu seemed envious that the couple was able to spend 10 years together, which to the couple, was possibly a long time. Jay may have added this element (Chopin & lover) because the 10 years was the period of time in which Chopin produced his most outstanding work.
    3. Qing Yi (Sky) carried Chopin’s manuscript and kept it in her locker.
    4. Chopin's Waltz (Op.64 No.2 C# minor) and "Black Key" Etude (Op. 10 No. 5) feature in the 鬥琴(Piano Duel) scene. Note that the melodic sequence of the "Black Key" Etude that is performed includes both the introductory black key sequence, as well as an excerpt from later on in the piece, which is played only on the white keys
I'm pretty impressed with this young man and am happy that he really used his talents and showcase them. Really looking forward to the next movie he directs and the next time I listen to his songs, I don't think I will lament on his enunciation anymore... ;p

I had a date with spring.....

I had a wonderful Wednesday night. :) Frankly, I am at lost of words on how to express my excitement, eagerness and happiness about my Wednesday date. My mom came over to my office and we left for Henderson for dinner. Mom has just graduated from Basic Training (for photos please check out the photo album in my facebook) and she is still very excited over it. I am sooo sooo sooo thankful God has placed her there and that Ad has pushed on to get her enrolled. It seems that my mom has a total brand new look towards life and is living it to her fullest and enjoying every single moment of it. I am so happy. I am so grateful for this opportunity given to her. Thank You, God.

We had a light dinner and our conversations are now more uplifting, she seems to be able to resonate with the same frequency as I am or rather, we are now on the same level of frequency. She's more optimistic and more open to possiblities. I can't say how glad I am now that we can share this level of conversation.

BUT, that's not the highlight... the highlight was we went to Henderson aged Outreach centre! I made alot of friends there and I was so looking forward to seeing them.

There are about 50 kind old ladies and old men over there and they all make it a point to gather and spend some time together, be it singing, playing games, etc.
I was busy so I was not able to take photos but I am so happy to see them and I can feel their sincerity when they say that they're happy to see us.

We began the night with light exercises. I was putting up the posters of the different postures for the exercise and showing them how to do it and my mom was guiding them through. The entire LP group was there and everyone was mingling around. :)

After the exercises, we have karaoke session, my mom was on the mic so she started her opera songs. Boy, do they love it! There was encore... ha ha ha... it's hilarious.

OH OH OH... we had BINGO! And we gave out daily necessities to them as prizes.

A kind soul delivered bread over and everyone has bread to take home. Mind you, it's an entire loaf of Guardina Bread.

And HSBC sponsored $15 NTUC voucher for them too! So sweet!

LP81 has a WOW day event on 4th April 2009, Saturday 12pm - 7pm at Hort Park. They're in need of volunteers. I have class going on so I can't go. Dang. But do let me know if you're free to help. drop me a note ya?

Next Wednesday 1 April is my Advance Training... I hope I can break through.

God Bless...

Master Your Mind Seminar!

Sorry for the long wait but I was waiting on getting my photos before doing up this blog.

I went for a Seminar in February and I would believe that all of you would have guess from the image above that I went for "Master Your Mind" seminar by T. Harv Eker.

I must say that it was FANTASTIC!!!!!

To show you a couple of pictures...

He came by the bar where all his warriors are having a gathering. Those who have attended his "Enlightened Warrior Camp" are called warriors. :P I have not attended so I can't explain anymore than this. :P

They're all chanting the warrior song...

Ah... my book signing! Yeah!

Some wonderful babes I met at the Seminar. It was funny how we met, I went there early on Saturday and I met Daphne the pretty turquoise lady on my left, then her entourage came after that. They all went for last year's warrior camp so they're a tight group now. ALL of them are very kind-hearted and extremely sincere. I have never met anyone quite like them. I enjoyed their company immensely for the rest of the Seminar. It was very very fun doing the activities with them!

There are 7 of us with me included! YEAH! So that explains the hand sign. hee hee...
Veronica, Iris, Toshiki, me, Daphne, Queeli, Regina

About the course, I have been thinking quite alot about this... I was wondering whether I should reveal anything about the course. Infringing on copyrights aside, I really don't wanna spoil the experience for those who really want to go.

For those who wants to know more... I would say this to you. In order to be rich and successful and be happy about it, you need to know what is your financial themostat. Ever wondered how Donald Trump can always bounce back from bankruptcy and still become a BILLIONAIRE? That is because his financial themostat is set to a very high level. In fact, if he has only 1 million dollars, he will consider himself poor!

So how do we know or how do we set out financial themostat? That, my dear friends, you have to MASTER YOUR MIND. In this seminar, there will be activities to help you fully understand what has been taught. Also, there will be guest speakers and I tell you, they are experts in their field! This seminar is bursting with knowledge, you will benefit alot from this.

So if you're interested, please drop me a comment or email me. I can get you tickets and hopefully, a discount from it. In currrent times, any discount is better than no discount and every penny saved is a penny in your pocket earning interest for you! Talk about financial success!

So please, I would strongly recommend you to go for this seminar. If you're still unsure and want to know more, please feel free to ask me. And if you're still not sure, you can try going for the Millionaire Mind Intensive I went last November. That should give you an introduction of T. Harv Eker's beliefs and principles.

The next seminar is in November this year. So again, if you're interested, let me know. If we get the tickets in bulk, it's always cheaper. :)

So God Bless and may all your money multiply!

You Master Your Mind!!!!!

Review : KUMAR : Stripped Bared & Standing-up

OMG! Our dear Miss Kumar is soooo sooooo funny! She's divine, hilarious and drop dead gorgeous... She's always been this good since Boom Boom room days... oh I miss going there!

About the show...

Our dear Miss Kumar did the opening herself and then transformed into her "drag" outfit, vividly describing through her life in the most hilarious ways(and every bit is true, according to him). Her jokes span from her childhood, family, how they accepted him when he came out of the closet to racist jokes (please, don't start we shouldn't be racist, yes I agree but if it's just to poke around every single race as in no one is left out, we should all chill... so please don't comment. Thank You) to politics... All I can say is that we laughed heartedly from start till the end. And the finale was a video montage and an indian dance gracefully and skillfully performed by our one and only Miss Kumar.

We were told that tickets are sold out but if you've missed it, don't fret, she will be on the next show called Sing Dollar with all the other big comedian casts : Hossan Leong, Dim Sum Dollies (yeah! will get to see Emma, Pam and Selina), etc. Tickets will be out on Monday 23-Mar-2009. So Hurry!

Oh, for those who went for the show, please keep the ticket stubs and you'll get a 20% discount! Well, in anycase, any discount is better than no discount! So go and get your tickets! Please help support local theatre!

See you there!

Oh, if you're interested in the interview with Kumar by the one of the sponsor if the stand-up gig Fridae, please go to the following link :-

But I think it'll be fun... will blog about this so let you know!

Remembering Natasha Richardson

Acclaimed actress Natasha Richardson, the wife of actor Liam Neeson and daughter of acting legend Vanessa Redgrave, died Wednesday of a critical head injury resulting from a skiing accident; she was 45.

Richardson had been taking a beginner's skiing lesson at the Mont Tremblant ski resort in Quebec when she fell in what appeared to be a minor mishap; the actress was reported to be laughing and joking as she walked back to her room with assistance from her ski instructor. She began to complain of headaches within an hour of the accident, and was taken to a nearby hospital before being transferred to Montreal's Sacre Coeur Hospital. Her husband, Liam Neeson, was in Toronto filming the movie Chloe when he heard of the incident, and rushed to her side. After being pronounced brain dead in Montreal, Richardson was later transferred by plane to New York where she was met by family and friends, who held a vigil at her bedside at Lenox Hill hospital. She was later taken off life support, and passed away early Wednesday evening.

My Condolences...

Touched...

I was reading through a friend's website cos she's in France at the moment and saw her post on the lyrics of a song.

I'm very touched by the lyrics... so I decided to put it on my web too.

Song Title : Make You Feel My Love
Artist : Adele

When the rain
Is blowing in your face
And the whole world
Is on your case
I could offer you
A warm embrace
To make you feel my love

When the evening shadows
And the stars appear
And there is no one there
To dry your tears
I could hold you
For a million years
To make you feel my love

I know you
Haven’t made
Your mind up yet
But I would never
Do you wrong
I’ve known it
From the moment
That we met
No doubt in my mind
Where you belong

I’d go hungry
I’d go black and blue
I’d go crawling
Down the avenue
No, there’s nothing
That I wouldn’t do
To make you feel my love

The storms are raging
On the rolling sea
And on the highway of regret
Though winds of change
Are throwing wild and free
You ain’t seen nothing
Like me yet

I could make you happy
Make your dreams come true
Nothing that I wouldn’t do
Go to the ends
Of the Earth for you
To make you feel my love
